Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Sky Height Safety is a trading division of Hoists and Cranes UK Limited. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website and through the course of our services. Our head office is at Unit 11, Melbury Business Park, Shaftesbury, Dorset SP7 0AF. Our London office is at 66 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NA.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect personal data that you provide to us directly, including:

  • Your name, organisation, job title, email address, and phone number when you submit an enquiry through our website or contact us directly.
  • Site location, postcode, and building details that you provide as part of a quotation or compliance check enquiry.
  • Records of services we have provided to you, including inspection reports, installation certificates, and related documentation.

3. How we use your personal data

We process personal data to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, deliver services under contract, issue invoices, maintain records required by law (including health and safety records and tax records), and to send service-related communications such as 12-month recertification reminders.

We do not use your personal data for marketing without your consent, and we do not share your details with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process personal data under the following legal bases set out in the UK GDPR:

  • Performance of a contract (for delivery of services).
  • Legitimate interests (for responding to enquiries and maintaining business records).
  • Legal obligation (for retention of records required by HSE, HMRC, or other regulators).
  • Consent (where you have opted in to receive specific communications).

5. How long we keep your data

We retain personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including the duration of any service contract and any subsequent period required for record-keeping under applicable law. Inspection and installation records are typically retained for a minimum of seven years.

6. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data with our parent company Hoists and Cranes UK Limited, with subcontracted engineers or specialists working under our direction, with our IT, hosting, and accounting service providers, and with regulators or law enforcement where we are legally required to do so.

7. Cookies and analytics

This website does not set tracking cookies until you have explicitly accepted them. On your first visit you will see a banner asking whether you accept optional analytics cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

If you accept, we load Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-JV59YDYFNM) with IP anonymisation enabled. Google Analytics sets cookies that allow us to see aggregated information about how the site is used โ€” page views, traffic sources, approximate location at country or region level, device and browser type. It does not allow us to identify you personally.

If you decline, no analytics scripts are loaded and no analytics cookies are set. The site continues to work exactly the same.

You can change your choice at any time:

Clicking the button above clears your saved choice and reloads the page so the banner appears again.

8. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to access your personal data, request correction, request deletion (subject to record-keeping obligations), object to processing, request restriction of processing, and request data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below.

9. Complaints

If you have a concern about how we handle your personal data, you can contact us first. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.

10. Contact
